Where is the location of your classes?

Our classes are held on a soundstage in the Los Angeles, California, USA.

Upon acceptance we will provide an orientation packet, which contains all information including address, etc.

Which Core Programs would you recommend for me?

We strongly recommend all our students take the full Core Session including both Section 1: Traditional Approach and Section 2: Modern Path of our Cinematography Programs together, since they are scheduled together and run simultaneously.

We have found that Students who take both Sections together get much more out of their experience since taking both is be the best way for working professionals and international/traveling students to maximize their study time and finances to get the most out of their time at G.C.I.

DO YOU RECOMMEND YOUR Core EXPANDED CINEMATOGRAPHY® Session FOR ME IF I AM A BEGINNER?

While our Core Session of cinematography classes (consisting of both The Traditional Approach and The Modern Path Sections) are designed for experienced cinematographers and working professionals, we have had students with visual portfolios at an earlier stage of development take our classes before with great success.

We encourage you to apply as soon as possible so we can connect you with our office before the start of classes to discuss your experience in more detail and find the best path for you through our Expanded Cinematography® Sessions.

How is the class schedule of your Expanded Cinematography® Programs structured?

Generally our classes in our Core Session are held between 3:00PM - 10:00PM on weekdays to allow our students to attend to work, school, and other responsibilities. Classes are then held between 9:30AM - 6:00PM on weekends, with a few days off for creative assignments throughout the session dates.

Our Advanced Session classes generally start at 10:00AM every day and run through most of the day, but the actual schedule will depend on which of the classes you enroll in. In the Advanced Session you choose which classes you want to take, whereas the Core Session classes are included as part of the Traditional Approach and Modern Path Sections.

Documents GCI Provides for International Student Visa Applications

Once accepted into one of our Expanded Cinematography® Courses we provide students a Letter of Acceptance that may be used during the visa filing process. Due to the shortness of the educational process, G.C.I. does not provide I-20 forms or anything beyond a Letter of Acceptance. While the type of visa you may need is dependent on your country’s US Embassy and their visa issuing procedures, we have had many international students before that have had visas issued with the aid of our Letter of Acceptance. Please check with your country’s US embassy to determine what type of visa you will need to attend Global Cinematography Institute.

Does the Global Cinematography Institute provide housing accommodationS?

We allow students to choose their own housing accommodations to keep the cost of our tuition as low as possible. G.C.I. does not provide any housing accommodations. Many of our students have had good experiences finding places to stay via airbnb.com (Note: We cannot personally vouch for the quality of any of these places).

Which Program do you recommend for me if I am an experienced cinematographER and/or working professional?

We strongly encourage all of our students to take our Art and Craft of Cinematography Foundational Programs first and then move into our Advanced classes, as our Expanded Cinematography® programs are designed for experienced cinematographers and working professionals, not beginners.

We have found that students who take the Foundational Programs first and then the Advanced Classes get much more out of their experience, and we would recommend this as the best way for working professionals and international/traveling students to maximize their study time and finances to take that next step in their professional development as a cinematographer.

How does the Course Fee breakdown:

Our course costs include the Application Fee and the FTP (Final Tuition Payment).

The Final Tuition Payment for each Section of the Core Session costs $2300.00 USD, so attending both would bring your cost to $4600.00 USD.

Students that apply before the first Early Bird deadline receive a 20% Early Bird Discount off the total tuition for the Core Session, which would bring tuition to $3680.00, saving you $920.00 USD.

Students that apply before the second Early Bird deadline can receive a 10% Early Bird Discount off the total tuition for the Core Session, which would bring tuition to $4140.00, saving you $460.00 USD.

In regard to the cost of the Advanced Session Final Tuition Payment, each Advanced class without discounts costs $1250.00 USD, so attending all 5 classes would normally bring your cost to $6250.00 USD.
